Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of ComplyMenu, provided at complymenu.com. By creating an account, you agree to them. If you're creating an account on behalf of a restaurant, you're confirming you have the authority to do so.

What ComplyMenu is

ComplyMenu is a digital record-keeping tool for restaurant food-safety compliance — temperature logs, cleaning checklists, corrective action tracking, and certification records. It's built to make keeping these records easier and more consistent than a paper system.

ComplyMenu does not guarantee regulatory compliance or inspection outcomes. We provide the tool to record what your team observes and does; we don't verify the accuracy of what's entered, set your food-safety procedures, or represent that using ComplyMenu satisfies any specific health code, regulation, or inspector's requirements. Your restaurant remains responsible for its own food-safety practices and for meeting applicable regulatory requirements.

Your account

• You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
• Owners are responsible for the accuracy of who they grant staff and manager access to, and for removing access when someone leaves.
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.

Trial and billing

• New accounts start with a 14-day free trial. No payment method is required to start a trial.
• Paid plans are billed monthly, at a flat rate per location, through Stripe. Pricing is shown at complymenu.com/#pricing and at checkout before you're charged.
• Adding a location to a paid subscription increases your monthly charge accordingly, prorated for the current billing period.
• You can cancel or manage your subscription at any time from the billing portal in your account. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not retroactively refund the current billing period unless required by law.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use ComplyMenu for anything unlawful, or in a way that could disrupt the service for other customers.
• Attempt to access another restaurant's account or data without authorization.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the underlying software.
• Use the service to store or transmit anything other than genuine food-safety and operational records it's designed for.

Your data

You own the data you enter into ComplyMenu — your check logs, staff records, and certifications remain yours. We don't claim ownership over it, and we don't use it for anything beyond providing the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Service availability

We aim to keep ComplyMenu available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ComplyMenu and its owner are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including, without limitation, any health code violation, fine, closure, or other regulatory consequence, regardless of whether ComplyMenu was used correctly. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Termination

You may stop using ComplyMenu and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, or that we reasonably believe poses a risk to the service or other customers. On termination, your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. If we make a material change, we'll update this page and, where appropriate, notify account owners by email.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
