Comparison

ComplyMenu vs Jolt

We make ComplyMenu, so read this knowing that. What follows is still the version we'd give you on the phone — including the part where Jolt is the better buy.

The short version. Jolt is a restaurant operations suite: scheduling, labelling, training, task lists, food safety. ComplyMenu is food-safety record keeping and nothing else. If you want one system running most of your back office, that's Jolt. If you want the clipboard on the walk-in door replaced properly and nothing else added to your monthly bill, that's this.

Side by side

How they actually differ

Jolt's feature set is broader than ours in almost every row below. That's the point of the comparison, not a thing we're hiding.

† On pricing. Jolt does not publish a standard price list, so we can't quote you theirs and won't pretend to. Note the currencies differ: ours is Canadian, theirs is quoted by US operators. The US$200–300 figure reflects what restaurant operators commonly report paying once modules are added — it is not a quote, and it is not from Jolt. Ask them directly; that number is the only one that applies to you. Ours is on the pricing page because you shouldn't have to book a call to learn what software costs.

Being straight

When Jolt is the better choice

Genuinely. If any of these describe you, ComplyMenu is the wrong tool and you'll be happier with them.

You want one system for everything

Scheduling, training, labelling and food safety in a single login, with one bill and one vendor. ComplyMenu will never do those things — we'd be building a worse version of a product that already exists.

You need date labels printed

Prep and use-by labelling with real printer hardware is a genuine operational win, and it isn't something we do at all.

You're running many locations

ComplyMenu handles multiple locations properly, but it's built for an owner who knows their sites by name. At franchise scale you want rollout tooling, brand-level standards and account management — that's their territory.

You want temperature sensors

Automatic sensor logging removes human error and catches a failing walk-in overnight. We're manual entry only. If sensors matter to you, that decides it.

The case for us

Where ComplyMenu wins

Narrower, cheaper, and faster to live. For a single independent restaurant, that combination is usually the whole argument.

You know the price before you call

CA$129 per location, monthly, published. No quote process, no negotiation, no discovering the real number after a sales call and three module add-ons.

Nothing you didn't ask for

You aren't paying for scheduling you don't use, or training modules nobody opens. One job, done properly, at one price.

Running the same afternoon

14-day trial, no card, no demo call. Set up your checks and log the first one in about five minutes — on the tablet already in your kitchen.

Out-of-range readings can't slip through

A temperature outside its range won't save without a corrective action note. That's enforced on the server, not just hidden in the interface — so it holds even if someone tries to work around it.

Your data leaves when you want

Full CSV export, one click, any time — not just when you're cancelling. And account deletion actually deletes, permanently, on your own command.

Built for gloved hands

Every control clears a 44px touch target, because the brief was a wall-mounted tablet in a working kitchen, not a manager's laptop.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is ComplyMenu a full Jolt replacement?

No — and deliberately so. Jolt is an operations suite covering scheduling, labelling, training and task management, with food safety as one module. ComplyMenu does food-safety record keeping only. If you use Jolt for shift scheduling or date labels, ComplyMenu will not replace those.

What does Jolt cost?

Jolt does not publish standard pricing; you request a quote and the figure depends on which modules and how many locations you take. Restaurant operators commonly report landing in the US$200–300 per location per month range once add-ons are counted. Get your own quote — that is the only number that applies to you.

What does ComplyMenu cost?

A flat CA$129 per location per month, published on the pricing page, with every feature included. No per-employee fees, no setup fee, no contract, no modules to add later.

Does ComplyMenu need hardware or sensors?

No. It runs in any browser on any tablet, phone or desktop you already own. Staff read the thermometer and type the number in. There is no sensor integration in the current version, and no hardware to buy.

Can I move my existing records over?

ComplyMenu starts fresh rather than importing history from another system. Your existing records stay wherever they are; most operators keep the old logs filed and start clean from a given date. ComplyMenu exports its own full history to CSV at any time, so you are never locked in either.
